Multimedia Magazine Curriculum

After what seems like ages of putting this off for more urgent matters, I have finally finished a workable version of this curriculum. This is the flowchart for the class, in its most basic form:

The curriculum itself is as follows, but the supplemental introduction piece, I will post separately.

Phase One
Day One: (1 hour)
*Introductions and Icebreaker (15 minutes)
*Brainstorm session about media that we use (15 minutes)
*Brief presentation about the effects of media (15 minutes)
*Brainstorming adjustment and what we want to get out of this (15 minutes)
Day Two: (1 hour)

*Discussion about youth representation in media (45 minutes)
*Discuss assignment (find one website that has something that you want to include in the media forum) (5 minutes)
Day Three: (1 hour)

*Share websites that we found (30 minutes)
*Brainstorm ways to use them (20 minutes)
Day Four: (1 hour)

*Dreamweaver boot camp 1 (50 minutes)

Cara, is there a plan to cover storytelling? There is a clear link between storytelling and multimedia authorship, esp. in hip-hop. Also, teaching the art of metaphor as it relates to grafitti and rap may interest your participants.
